“Wanted: More Competitive Development Award Applications”
Do you have a new or enhanced technology-related product, process or service that would create and support sustainable, high quality jobs for Maine people? The Maine Technology Institutes (MTI’s) Development Award Program can provide up to $500,000 per investment. Investments are made three times per year to support research and development of new products and services that lead to the market. The next application deadline is Monday, February 2, 2009, by 5:00 pm. Future deadlines include June 2009 and October 2009.
Development Award Specialist Jessie Gogan will take you through the application writing process. In this informative workshop you will learn what it takes to successfully assemble a competitive Development Award application and acquire tips that will allow you to make your application clear, focused, complete and compelling. The speaker will also highlight MTI, its mission, assistance resources, and the application review process. Ample time will be provided for a question and answer portion of the workshop. Download the Development Award RFA at www.mainetechnology.org and come with questions.
The speaker: Jessie Gogan joined MTI in April of 2008 to administer the Development Award program. Prior to joining MTI, she worked in the public health field for 10 years and has expertise in policy and workforce development, grant management, and event planning and delivery.
SPECIAL NOTE: All resubmissions of previously unfunded applications to the Development Award program require a mandatory meeting with MTI staff at least three weeks prior to the application deadline.
The Maine Center for Enterprise Development provides an experiential learning environment to start-ups and early stage entrepreneurs for the creation and growth of quality companies through incubation, entrepreneurial development and education.
